Still Crying
Harry Smothers
(Tune: "Banana Republic" by Steve Goodman, slightly modified)
(ref. movie "The Crying Game")
Down in the South London district, down where there seldom is sun
Come all the emaciated young drag queens expecting to have some fun
Some of them are running from lovers, some are just running away,
Some of them are running from dealers, and one is running from the I.R.A.
Now, Dil is a ditz but so lovely, and "Jim" hasn't gotten the joke
Jody is dead but still lives on, walking through their dreams in smoke
Goldfish are dead on the cobbles, we viewers are glued to our seats
Then Dil's clothes come off, and we all see she's packing several inches of meat
Back in the South London District, back to the I.R.A.
"Jimmy" was to off an old judge on the very morning of the very next day
But Dil tied "Jim" to the bedposts, and then Jude ate Dil's lead by the pound
"Jim" takes the rap, so she visits whenever family hours come 'round
