Life is being lifelike. I’ve been very fragile lately, but I’m getting my mental feet under me at last. Everything is in flux, but getting better daily. My honey is wonderful. And it’s great to have a brother again.

Expecting the world to treat you fairly because you are a good person, is a little like expecting the bull not to attack you because you are a vegetarian.
~ Dennis Wholey
I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure — try to please everybody.
–Herbert Bayard Swope
About the time I wish I were dead, something falls in my path about which I make a difference. Then I figure God was saving me for that.

Crisis Intervention Misery is an option available to us every day, over any situation. We can linger, befriending despair. It is also possible to take life’s rough currents in stride, responding to them sanely, thoughtfully, trustingly. The tough times, we can see in retrospect, teach us the most. Crises become too familiar to some of us. They push us into overdrive and an elation accompanies them, an elation born from the energy inherent in the crisis.
However, this same energy is inherent in calm, sensible responses to life if we’d learn to cultivate it. Crises ultimately burn us out, while measured, balanced responses to turmoil rekindle belief in ourselves, and our ability to handle the gravest conditions. Dwelling in crisis allows us to avoid forward movement. However, if we want to grow and find the real happiness we deserve, we must move ahead to the challenge that promise us our due.
And to this I quote Barbara Grizzuti Harrison: “…to have a crisis, and act upon it, is one thing. To dwell in perpetual crisis is another.” “A crisis may protect me from unknown opportunities today. It will also prevent growth. My choice is open and only I can make that choice.”
From Miguel-Angel
We often expect other people to meet our needs. When they don’t give us what we want, we may feel anger, resentment and even revengeful. Rather than blaming others, we could choose to get in touch with our needs and then fill them ourselves. (Anon.)

When you can see beauty, you become beautiful. When you can appreciate and value achievement, you become successful.
What you build and treasure within you flows into every corner of your life. What you have within you is what you truly have.
Fill your heart with love, and love will soon surround you. Fill your thoughts with gratitude, and abundance will be yours.
The priorities you hold within you will determine the realities you come to know. Those things you treasure deeply will grow to fill your world.
The person you appear to be on the outside is only a faint reflection. It’s who you are inside that really matters.
Fill yourself inside with love, with authentic purpose, with joy and hope and faith and goodness. It all will flow out from you in a bright and splendid way.
— Ralph Marston
