I had an incredible day.<\/p>\n
I was asked to go to court in support of a homeless person I didn’t
\nknow, so I went. Actually, on Sunday I found out that another
\nperson who has been involved with Asheville Homeless Network was also
\ngoing to be in court… and I found out when I got there that they were
\nboth in the same courtroom. While sitting in the courtroom
\nwaiting, yet another friend came in… he had been attacked by a person
\nhe was giving space to in his home, and the guy told the cops he was a
\ndrug dealer (which he isn’t) — so the violent person gets a
\nmisdemeanor charge and my friend gets a felony charge. Lots of
\ninteresting facets to this case, but I shouldn’t go into that here.<\/p>\n
When I left the courtroom, I went to the bank to deposit a check I’d
\ngotten for AHN. As I got home, there was a message from my
\nwonderful friend, Carolina, asking to meet me downtown. I spent
\nabout an hour on Pathways Seminary paperwork, then went out to go meet
\nher… and ran into AHN Treasurer H.L.. I went back in my
\napartment to get the business cards I’d printed out for him, and spent
\nsome time talking to him about our incorporation papers, which I mailed
\nin Saturday. He then drove me to my meeting with Caroline.<\/p>\n
She was as wonderful as always. And she always makes me feel
\nbetter just being around her. Some others of her friends dropped
\nin and I got to meet them. And before I left, my
\nacquaintance\/friend Robin Cape, who we just helped get elected to City
\nCouncil, came in, and introduced me to her husband. We then
\ntalked about several things, including getting approval (when the new
\nCouncil takes their seats) for a Tent City. She asked me to work
\nup some information about tent cities around the country and send it to
\nher email.<\/p>\n
I headed for home, and ran into Jesse, another person who has been
\ninvolved in AHN, and talked to him for a while, then headed home again
\nand ran into Son Heart, another AHN member and talked with him for a
\nwhile.<\/p>\n
After getting home, I did the research, and sent out two emails to AHN
\nand one of those to Robin. Then I got ready for my Recovery Inc.
\nmeeting, which it was my turn to run.<\/p>\n
We had a good meeting, although there were “only” 5 people there.
\nI walked there, and walked back. Logged in over 11,000 steps
\ntoday \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n
Came home and visited with John, and watched House with him.<\/p>\n
Now I’m home and being beseiged by all my friends on Messenger.<\/p>\n
Like I said, it was a good day.<\/p>\n
