Some things just seem to be too good to be true. And we’ve been told if it’s too good to be true it probably isn’t.<\/p>\n
Well, the joy of life is true. Good things are happening everywhere, all the time. Joy and love are mainly in our consciousness. The only obstacles are self imposed.<\/p>\n
Of course they are often self imposed as a result of outside influences. We are constantly buying into the con games that rob us of our spiritual integrity.\u00a0 There are people who want other things from us. They want our time, our money, our obedience, our loyalty. And so the mind games begin: power trips.<\/p>\n
Soon though, we become perpetrating victims.<\/p>\n
We become a part of the process of cynicism, perhaps clever, perhaps witty, but destructive of the innocence of love and joy, kindness and caring. Then there may be moments of bliss but we know they are doomed, to be merely moments of happiness, not a continuum.<\/p>\n
Jung, when he proposed the model of the shadow, the place we hide the parts of ourselves we are ashamed of and try to suppress, suggested that more than half of our shadow contained our own goodness. Imagine, ashamed of being good.<\/p>\n
We can be amazingly whole, satisfied, and at peace even though the world around us is not whole, satisfying, and peaceful. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I’m beholding beauty with a vengeance.<\/p>\n
I’m serious about this beauty thing. Go ahead. Be driven to make money. I’m makin’ beauty, so step aside or get mowed down!<\/p>\n
