With all the problems I have, all the problems Sunshine has, and all the problems we wind up having together, you gotta give us extra credit for sticking together. This is the most committed relationship I’ve had — at both ends. Even when it’s bad, we both want it to be good.  Sometimes the same thing happens over and over again, and I refuse to believe it is conscious and willful on my sweetie’s part.  I know I’m just as responsible for getting rid of my triggers as she is for not pushing them, and vice versa.

We may be in quicksand, but we’re in it together. And even though the movement forward feels like we’re walking through quicksand, we have only been together a few months (living together since the end of February) and have come farther emotionally than I have in any previous relationship.  So I’ll try harder to celebrate where we are and that we’re still moving forward, instead of how much I hurt today (and try to totally forget how much I hurt yesterday).
