This past weekend was the 4th annual Asheville SF/Fantasy/Gaming convention, Revoluti*Con. We had a pretty good turnout, much better than last year and about the same as 2 years ago. Again, attendance dropped off for Sunday. Alex says he will plan for Revoluti*Con 5, but make it a Saturday-only convention.
Even though they rest of the ConCom pretty much gave me the weekend off from my duties, I still walked myself to death and was exhausted and in mucho pain when I got home Saturday night. I slept a lot, and took some naproxen, and felt better for Sunday… also still felt better when I got home.
We raised $30 at the fundraiser for AHN. Better than I anticipated. We still have a few items left over, and you never know, we might just sell some of them.
After the con, Marc picked me up (he already had picked up Beverly) and we talked about the HomeYes Program. We also went to Wally World and picked up a few things and discussed other things to pick up. I gave Beverly one of our wonderful donated blankets, and she and Marc went to get a Net10 cell phone.
After I got home from that, I watched football, as is my wont on a Sunday afternoon/evening. When evening approached and deepened, Danny (my current temporary roommate) came home. We went to Ingles (he just bought a clunker van) and finished the grocery shopping.
Sometime during the football, I checked my email and followed up on some of my forum postings. I had a response for one of the posts, and by the time I was done typing it, it sounded so good that I stole it (well, it IS my writing) and started crafting next month’s article for PaganPages.org (which will be my 15th “monthly” article for them). Sometimes I simply astonish myself, I come up with something that came from within me that I’m sure I have never heard elsewhere and which makes perfect sense. (Be afraid; be VERY afraid. LOL)
Guess that’s about it… didn’t need to mention my knitting, or my music, or my new hippo cellphone cover… and my parents are home safe from China.
Hugs,
Me
